Erath County CSCD Release Role
CSCD supervises adults placed on community supervision by an Erath court. Community supervision is commonly called probation. It lets a person serve a court-ordered term in the community under conditions, but it does not by itself describe when the jail physically released that person. The judgment, supervision order, and sheriff release transaction answer different parts of the timeline.
A person can report to CSCD after leaving jail, after sentencing without a jail stay, or under another court arrangement. Someone released on bond is not automatically a probationer. Likewise, a person transferred to TDCJ remains in state custody and does not become an Erath probationer merely because county custody ended.

Erath Probation and Parole Differ
Erath’s two supervision offices are split by law and geography. CSCD handles probation ordered by an Erath court in Stephenville. TDCJ maps state parole and mandatory-supervision cases for Erath County to the Mineral Wells District Parole Office. Calling one office about the other system can produce no useful answer.

Mandatory supervision is a state prison release form, not county probation. Bond conditions also differ from probation, even when both require a person to follow court rules in the community.
Erath Court Supervision Records
The Erath Tyler Odyssey portal provides a shared Smart Search entrance for County Clerk and District Clerk criminal matters. Search by cause number when possible. Review the court, charge, judgment, sentence, supervision order, revocation entries, and discharge order. County misdemeanor matters generally route through the County Clerk. Felony district matters belong with the District Clerk.
The County Court at Law publishes forms titled “Order of Discharge from CS,” “Order of Dismissal and Discharge,” and “Order of Early Discharge from CS.” Here, CS means community supervision. A signed order can establish that a term ended or a qualifying case reached discharge. It does not recreate the exact time of an earlier jail release.
If an online image is unavailable, ask the correct clerk for the existing order. A certified copy authenticates the court action, but the sheriff’s transaction remains the direct physical-release source.
Erath Probation Status Terms
Clear terms prevent a release record from being overstated. Probation is court-ordered community supervision. Revocation is a court action that ends or changes probation after an alleged or proven violation under the applicable process. Discharge ends the supervision term named in the order.

Erath Jail Release to Probation
When a court orders probation after an Erath County Jail stay, verify two events. The court judgment shows the legal sentence and supervision. The jail release transaction shows when county detention ended. Check other causes and holds because one probation order may not clear every basis for custody.
Ask the sheriff for the existing booking sheet and release transaction, including date, time, release authority, and transfer destination if maintained and public. Ask the clerk for the judgment or supervision order. Then use CSCD for the current supervision question. That three-record chain is stronger than a vanished roster name or an undated statement.

Erath CSCD Violations and Discharge
Conditions and alleged violations are handled through the supervision and court process. A missed appointment or alleged breach does not itself prove a new conviction. Public docket entries may show a motion, warrant, hearing, modification, or revocation order. Read the final signed action rather than treating an allegation as the outcome.
Discharge can occur at the scheduled end or through a qualifying court order. The County Court at Law’s published discharge forms show why the court record is central. A discharge from probation is not the same as expunction. Expunction and nondisclosure are separate Texas remedies with their own eligibility rules and orders.
