Erath County VINELink Is Now Texas IVSS-Counties

Texas replaced county VINE and VINELink with Texas IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. The Attorney General said existing registrations migrated, although users had to update a password at first login. Older pages that direct Texas users to the former county VINELink flow are no longer current. The replacement portal provides county custody and court-event notices, subject to participation and the record available for the named person.

The state support line is 866-268-8959 and is available around the clock in English and Spanish. Use that line to confirm current Erath participation, registration options, or a notice problem. Do not assume a feature shown in an old VINE brochure still exists in the same form.

How to Search an Erath County Inmate on IVSS

Texas IVSS-Counties accepts more than a name. The available fields include full name, a partial first and last name, DOC ID, SID, Jail ID, or permanent booking number. A CAPTCHA must be completed. Exact identifiers are safer than a name-only match, especially where spelling variants or shared names appear.

1. Open the official Texas IVSS-Counties portal and choose the specific-person search.
2. Enter the strongest available identifier. Use Jail ID, permanent booking number, SID, or DOC ID when the source record provides one.
3. If using a name, try the full spelling first and then the supported partial-name method.
4. Complete the CAPTCHA and review potential matches without assuming the first name match is correct.
5. Compare identifiers and custody details before selecting the record.
6. Read the event label. Release, transfer, booking, and court-event notices have different meanings.
7. Save the result or alert, then obtain an official jail or court record when proof is needed.

What an Erath County IVSS Record Shows

The Attorney General describes county events that can include booking, release, a court event being set or changed, death, escape, and transfer to TDCJ. The portal is useful for timely notice, but it warns that people no longer in custody may not remain in search results. It also states that its data is not an official record.

A release notice should be matched to the booking episode and the agency that sent it. A transfer alert is especially easy to misread. When Erath County transfers a person to TDCJ, switch to the TDCJ search and notification system. Do not describe that person as released to the community.

How to Register for Erath County Release Notification

The current service can provide text, telephone, or email notices, with or without an account, according to the official research. Registration choices may differ by record and the live interface. Save the confirmation and a copy of notification preferences so a later alert can be tied to the correct person and event.

1. Open the verified person record and select the available notification option.
2. Choose the offered delivery channel, such as text, phone, or email.
3. Enter the requested contact details and review the named person and event types.
4. Complete the confirmation method shown by the current portal.
5. Save the confirmation and note which agency or system the registration covers.

Historical Texas VINE brochures instructed telephone users to create a four-digit PIN and enter it followed by a pound sign. Current official IVSS material reviewed for this project does not publish that as the replacement registration rule. Follow the live confirmation screen. Do not enter an old PIN because a third-party guide says to do so.

Erath County Release Alerts Have a Data Gap

Erath County's Online Services page labels a link as “Inmate Listing,” but the link currently lands on the general jail page. That destination does not expose a name search, rolling release archive, release reason, release date, or booking photograph. At the same time, IVSS-Counties warns that people who leave custody may no longer appear in its results.

Those two facts create a local gap. There is no verified durable county release feed, and the notification search may be temporary. Preserve the alert, call Erath County Jail at 254-965-3221 for current physical custody, search the Tyler Odyssey portal for the court authority, and request the existing jail release transaction. The alert provides a lead. The jail and court records carry the documentary burden.

County IVSS Versus TDCJ IVSS for Erath Releases

Texas uses two similarly named notification systems. Texas IVSS-Counties covers participating county custody and listed county events. TDCJ IVSS covers TDCJ custody, parole, and mandatory supervision. TDCJ notices can include parole review, Board decisions, release to supervision, discharge, bench-warrant movement, and supervision-warrant activity.

A county release event says that county custody ended. It does not rule out TDCJ, ICE, USMS, another jail, or another active hold. In the same way, a TDCJ release date belongs to the state-prison episode and does not certify the earlier county-jail exit.

Erath County Alert Limits and Official Proof

A no-result is not proof that someone was released. The record may use another spelling or identifier, the jail may not expose that record, the system may lag, or the person may have disappeared from results after release. Juvenile confidentiality, sealing, expunction, and another custodian can also affect what appears.

When the person is still held, the jail or TDCJ current-custody source is the right place to verify location. When the person has been released, use the release transaction, an actual TDCJ Release Date with consistent status, or the court order and disposition. An alert can help establish timing but remains secondary to the record created by the responsible office.

Texas IVSS-Counties does not cover BOP custody. The BOP locator can show “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” for covered federal inmates, but that ends BOP custody only. ICE has its own locator and a limited post-release display window. Always name the custodian whose event is being described.
